We Need a Driver in the Suburbs!

January 28th, 2011

Hey! We’re looking for delivery drivers in Naperville and the surrounding suburbs.

Are 18+ and are legally able to work in the United States.
Have a clean driving record, a reliable car with current insurance and air conditioning.
Are okay being on-call in the mornings for 1-3 hour shifts between 8-12 noon, four days a week.
Are flexible enough to find out the night beforehand what kind of routes and deliveries you’ll get to make.
Know how to use a handy dandy GPS or have one on your phone.
Have a cell phone and aren’t afraid to use it to communicate with our customers and office staff. (Hands-free, of COURSE. Duh.)
Think that an average wage range of $9-20/hour+ is A-OK.
Like working as an independent contractor.

Are learning every single day. We’re new, growing faster that we anticipated, and we love it.
Love people who are fun and can have fun, and don’t take life too seriously, but really, REALLY put the customer FIRST.
Expect that everyone will follow through on their own responsibilities.
Let you know the night before of any deliveries that need to be made.
Need one person to join our Western Suburb delivery team ASAP!

Interested in working with us? Send on over the following:
1 – a quick note telling us why you think you’d be great at delivering cupcakes
2 – the sum of 42 and 21

Email with “I LOVE THE SUBURBS!” in your subject line.

Oh – and no phone calls, please. We want to make sure we continue to service our phone customers exactly the way they deserve. Thanks!

My Party Was Foiled! | January

January 27th, 2011

Kelcy Hale is an Account Manager for Chicago-based marketing madhouse All Terrain. Her favorite cupcake? Foiled Cupcakes’ Southern Belle. (Probably because it’s RED like her #1 team, the Nebraska Cornhuskers!)

On Thursday, January 13, All Terrain celebrated another amazing year for our company – along with a special delivery of Foiled Cupcakes!

(Before we get to the party, can I just say that my coworkers within close vicinity to my desk and I had a HARD time keeping our hands out of the cupcake boxes and saving them for the party? The delicious smell combined with how tasty they looked resulted in total agony!)

Our team of 20 and our guests started off the evening with a four-course (and absolutely amazing!) dinner at The Drawing Room. Following dinner, we kicked it up a notch at Privet (formerly Le Passage), along with 250 of our closest friends, supporters and Foiled Cupcakes!

Founders and co-owners Brook Jay and Sarah Eck-Thompson welcomed the crowd before belting out a few karaoke tunes of their own. We sang (along to Live Band Karaoke!), danced and ATE our way through the evening, celebrating every step of the way. A VIP hostess (wo)manned the Foiled Cupcakes table – a favorite among party-goers who loved the intricate details that adorned the cupcake tops. Needless to say, they didn’t last long!

It was an awesome treat to have Chicago’s Foiled Cupcakes on hand to treat our team & guests to the very best! A BIG THANKS to Mari & the Foiled Cupcakes team for helping celebrate 12 amazing years for All Terrain!

Congratulations, All Terrain, on 12 amazing years! Thank you for choosing Foiled Cupcakes to celebrate!

Sunday’s Prediction? Win Cupcakes!

January 19th, 2011

I told our pastry team, “We HAVE to put together a BEAR DOWN cupcake assortment for this weekend” the second they scored their third touchdown last week against Seattle. Which we did here.

And as always, we’re giving some away.

So, here’s the deal:
Tell us your predictions for Sunday’s game in the comments below.

Everybody who guesses correctly will win
a) a Dozen BEAR DOWN Cupcakes (if they win this weekend, which they better!), or
b) a Dozen of our Favorites (if they lose this weekend, for which I will blame Kristin Cavallari and/or Brett Favre, because Brett Favre should take the blame for most things that go wrong in football, in my opinion. :) )

Ready? Go!

(And for the record, our prediction: DA BEARS 74, Da Cheeseheads 3 :) )

Meet Iris, Foiled Cupcakes’ Order Coordinator based in Utah:

I’m a cupcake junkie and I live for sharing cupcakes with people I love. I’m also really into big sunglasses, yoga pants and lately, running. Here are the things that made my shiny happy goodness list:

Favorite App - Fruit Ninja. If you don’t have it, you HAVE to get it!
Best way to get motivated - Running in the morning. Go, go, go!
Greatest tabloid – US Weekly. I should know. I’m a tabloid junkie.
Current obsessionPlaying for Change – amazing music from people around the world
Last book I read – Love Walked In by Marisa de los Santos
Best kitchen investment - an AMAZING set of kitchen knives. Chop-chop-chop!
Last album I boughtSteven Stucki (he’s the new Jason Mraz)
My favorite Foiled Cupcakes flavors – Southern Belle & Ooey Gooey
The only way to eat a cupcake – Frosting first, then cake. I’m such a 5 year old, I know.

Talk to you soon!
